These first few pictures are of the first adventure Cam ever took me on. It was right after we met in april of '04. We went down Water Holes Canyon just outside of Page, Az. Cam's friend Otis took all of these pictures for us, he is usually the leader of all Cam's crazy adventures and the one that convinced me that I wasn't going to pee my pants or die while trying to repel!
These last 2 are of when Cam and I kayaked 6 miles up Lees Ferry. If we had gone up just a little further we would have reached the Glen Canyon Dam. It was a scary but breathtaking journey. We went with our friend Kib, who has also gone on a lot of adventures with Cam.
Can I just say how FUN Jake is!! This age is so fun, he is constantly entertaining me! Not that being his mom hasn't been great from the start but now its really fun. He responds with such personality to everything. He is the perfect mix of Cam and I. He is adventurous, fearless, and a complete busy body just like Cameron! He is really silly, loud and impatient like me. It will be interesting to see what he does with all of the qualities and personality as he gets older! I can totally see him being everything that Cameron wants to be like a tour guide of some place really adventurous or someone who teaches people to repel, rock climb and cayonear. Or maybe a snowboard or ski instructor. Who knows but I'm sure it will be something that requires physical activity. Cameron (and Jake I'm sure) could never do a desk job, he has WAY too much energy that needs a good outlet.
I'm so grateful for Jacob and I know every mother says that about child or children but it means something unique and special for each mother. My life long lesson with be one of patience and Jake has been a great teacher for me. I've learned so much about myself over the past year and I think for the most part I'm a better person for being Jacobs mom. I can't wait to share all the experiences this life has to offer with Jacob!
