For a couple weeks we'd had an induction date set for the 23rd and I have never looked forward to something so much in my whole life! I'd been measuring a weeks ahead since my first ultrasound and had a long list of pregnancy related complaints so I was excited when my Doc suggested we induce me 10 days early! The last few weeks I'd felt pretty crummy and had a LOT of pressure so I half expected we wouldn't even make it to the 23rd....
Monday (the 22nd) we went to my parents for dinner and to drop Jake off since our induction was scheduled for 7:30am. We got home and packed our hospital bag and made sure everything was ready for baby boy to come home. Just before 10pm I had filled up my water cup for the night and was getting ready to take my prenatal vitamin and POP!! My water broke! I couldn't help but laugh, honestly! Cam immediately started frantically taking our things to the car while I stood in the bath tub and dripped, dripped, dripped! Cam even got frustrated with me because I insisted that I lotion my legs and do my hair before we lefted! Then contractions hit and I pretty much ran to the car! They came hard and fast (I mean HARD!) By the time we got to the hospital about 10:20 or I couldn't even stand up straight! They took me right to my room and I was already at a 5. Around midnight I got the oh so heavenly epidural ahhhhhhh! Two hours later at 2am I was fully dilated and ready to push but..... my Doc wasn't there, Ugh! We had to wait almost 30 minutes for him to stumble in all puffy eyed and tired looking. I pushed for 15 minutes and at 2:46 Cooper Joseph Johnson was born!
He is SO precious! I have a feeling (I hope I'm not jinxing myself) that he will be the calm one out of my boys. He can get a little fussy but he's very easily comforted. He is a PRO nurser and sleeper! Our first night home was a little rough but now that my milk has come, in our second night was almost perfect!
Jacob LOVES, LOVES, LOVES baby brother!! He has taken to the name Cooper very well even though he was dead set on Carson. He loves to get really close to him and say "so cute" in his best baby voice. He loves to point out all things "tiny" about Cooper, which is pretty much everything... "tiny eyes," "tiny hands," "tiny feet." It really melts my heart. Even though he's very excited about baby brother he has had a bit of a hard time adjusting. LOTS of tantrums! I know the fits will pass and they will be best of friends!
Right now I couldn't be happier. Seriously, I don't remember the last time I felt this much Joy in my life. I LOVE all my boys so much. I know that my heart has grown to hold more love for this sweet spirit. Cooper is the perfect addition to our family!
